About Myself
I am a highly experienced accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor and trainer. I have over twenty years experience of working with adults and young people as well as leading therapeutic groups. I have worked widely in statutory and voluntary settings, as well as in private practice. I have also worked as a counselling trainer and educator and researcher. My first career was in education. I believe that creating a trusting therapeutic relationship is essential to help support personal growth and healing.

Researcher and Trainer
Between 2007-2022 I was involved in training child and adolescent psychotherapeutic counsellors at the Faculty of Education, Cambridge University. I have also contributed several chapters to counselling books including Therapy with Children and Young: Integrative Counselling in Schools and Other Settings.
I have also take part in counselling research and my PHD research 'The Trust is the Work' exploring school counsellor information sharing and safeguarding won the 2017 CPCAB/ BACP research award. This link leads to a video of me being interviewed about by research.

I reserve a limited number of places for Concessions and Students in professional post-graduate counselling and psychotherapy training £45
I offer a free half hour initial consultation

On foot: The Open Door is about 30 yards along Church Twitten when accessed from School Hill. Church Twitten is a pedestrian alleyway situated between Lewes House (32 High St) and School hill Medical Practice (33 High St).
